Goodbyes are not easy

If you could remember, what was the main reason why i started this blog exactly a year ago?

.

.

.

.

.

The main idea was so called to provide a ground where the ex-teachers of sjk sungai jaong could get hold of what's happening here when they move out of the school.

Well, that was not really the main main reason you see..

I created this blog a year ago to dedicate my appreciation to those teachers whom i called friends- good friends.

And why do i bother to do this in the first place when I should be cleaning and tidying my place (or places a.k.a sarang) since it's so messy that even rats couldn't live there?

The answer is the transfer result is out again and as predicted I don't like what I know. Some of my great friends are going to transfer and i feel like a block of wood have stomped over me.

I treasure friends like they are my own soul and by them going away makes my life incomplete. Without them, I might be walking some parts of my life alone here in this strange land of East Malaysia.

Otherwise, who's gonna accompany me after school, 'lepaking' at our regular place before heading back to school again and stay there till the day loses it brightness?

Who's gonna help me train the kids with the dancing? Sharing ideas on how to decorate the class?

Who's gonna ride the bike with me to badminton games? Who's gonna make stupid jokes and sometimes 'kuning' jokes to cheer me up?

Who's gonna share me their thoughts, passion in teaching..their worries for the kids?

Lots of question eh?

Perhaps, I could still manage to do them afterwards but it won't be the same anymore.

I always joke around saying that diamonds are forever because i really fancy those glistening glittering things.

Now if you ask me again, at this moment i'd truthfully answer without hesitation,
"Friends are".

I wish that we will remain good friends-great friends till we grow old reminiscing the great things and the stupid ones too that we've shared in our walk of life.

I asked a friend," What's the hardest part of being a teacher?"

My answer is.. letting friends go.
....................................................................................................................................................................

Here are the fantastic teachers who are going away this end of year...

Alexander Sim, one of the most athletic person I've known who dedicated his life to sports and to  his family. The respect that he has to his parents makes me appreciate mine. The company that he gives me makes me feel like friendships see beyond races, colours and personalities.

*Alex, thanks for being a great friend and cheering our lives with your jokes. And also for teaching me how to do a lot of stuffs i've never imagined that i'd do them in my entire life-namely fishing and hunting. We've been through a lot of stuffs here and each of them are great memories to me; having you and our other crimes partners here. Next year would be a totally different thing i guess. *Kalu x best ngaja sana, gtau aku. Aku call Muhyiddin utk transfer ko balik ke sini. :)

And then we have Law Seng Ai and Tong Jhye Fong, a pair of friends who succeeded in getting a transfer after so long being in SJKSJ. I have always admired their dedication towards teaching and their perseverance in sharing their knowledge with the kids. I see them trying their best in every way they could in anything that they do and i admire the good heart that they have in them. :)

* Seng Ai: I wish you the best in your future school and your future pupils are lucky to have you.
Jhye Fong: May you find your soul mate in the nearest time there! *kidding  ;p

"We cried  in our heart
with a smile in our face
for letting  friends go.
For ones ever know
the loves that we everyday sow
grow."

when crab teaches her young to walk straight. *direct translation

My kid got 3rd place for storytelling; and i was being honest when i asked the head judge for her comment:

me: Could u please tell me what was her weaknesses so i could start to work on that?
head judge: Her 'pro-noun-ciation'
me: So, okay, i need to work on her pronunciation, is it?
head judge: Yes, she had problem sometimes with her 'pro-noun-ciation'. She said 'ask' instead of 'asked'
me: *in my head* and the champion said, "One more thingS", and many more??

.
.
Okay, i'm just being bitter now. But putting that aside, 'pro-noun-ciation'???

continue...* darn, i just couldn't help it.

head judge: and she also had problems with her expression.
.
.
WHAT?

let me spell it to you again, W.H.A.T??????
That i cannot accept lady!
But instead of saying that, I smiled and walked away.
*flips hair and snap fingers

I may not be the master of English pronunciation, but i know some of the words that i should master before i teach others. Alas, we are all human beings.

p/s: i knew i should have got myself a video cam.

 What's wrong with my pro-noun-ciation?

P/S: agak-agak kalau penulis transfer nanti ade orang nangis tak?

Selamat Menyambut Chap Goh Mei :-)

Salam Maulidurrasul

During the assembly yesterday, The GB asked the pupils why is it that today is a Public Holiday, and none of them could answer that; be it the non-Muslims and the Muslim ones. Well, here's why.

Today's public holiday is called the Maulid (birthday) Al-Rasul or Maulid-an-Nabi or commonly called Maulidurrasul in Malaysia. It is celebrated to mark the birthday of the last Prophet Muhammad SAW. It's celebrated almost in every Muslim countries.

Where Mawlid is celebrated in a carnival manner, large street processions are held and homes or mosques are decorated. Charity and food is distributed, and stories about the life of Muhammad are narrated with recitation of poetry by children.

Mawlid falls in the month of Rabi' al-awwal.
Rabi' al-awwal is the third month in the Islamic calendar. During this month, Muslims around the world celebrate Mawlid - the birthday of the Islamic prophet Muhammad in the Islamic calendar.
Shias observe the event on the 17th of the month, coinciding with the birth date of their sixth Imam, Ja'far al-Sadiq, while Sunnis observe it on the 12th of the month. As the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar.

1 Malaysia celebrates CNY

Yesterday, i had loads of fun organizing the '1 Malaysia Celebrates CNY' programme together with my colleagues. I have to say that we put a lot of efforts in putting this event into realisation. It was great to see everyone u know working hard in just one simple event. I myself and Lee Jen who looked mesmerizingly beautiful that day worked our ass off in setting up the 3-panels backdrop in the rain the day before it took place.

Everyone looked great yesterday; the pupils and the teachers. It feels like it was all worth it, for all the hard works had paid off upon looking at the cheerful faces of the children. I just wish that the Angpows would be higher in value next year.

Here are some pictures I took on that day. Please bear with the quality of pictures. I still cant afford a DSLR cam yet. :-p
